Disappointing
Sorry to say...not much info about Kateri's life - focuses too much about modern day people involved with her shrine.
Saint Kateri Tekakwitha
Of necessity this DVD has to be more of a documentary than an acted film. She was a wonderful young Iroquois/Mohawk woman who listened to the Blackrobes (the French missionary priests) and fell in love with Jesus and spent the rest of her life living out the Gospel. She had to escape from her environment to be able to live as her heart yearned, and she came to a community of Native Americans who had been baptized like her and had left their environments and lived in a place which is now part of New York. She is the first native American to be canonized. Her life is inspiring.
Beautiful documentary
This documentary was very interesting and enlightening about St. Kateri Taekakwitha's life and the miracle that brought forward her canonization. You meet the boy who was healed and his mother. It is the amazing and incredible story of the first canonized Native American in the United States.
